THE CACTUS LEATHER

A Mexican Idea

Cactus leather is a vegetable material designed by two Mexicans (Desserto) who have developed a real alternative to animal leather and PVC. Prickly pears grow in organic plantations in Mexico using rainwater and minerals from the earth, without irrigation systems. The cut leaves dry in the sun without additional energy being used. Besides saving water and energy, cacti absorb a good amount of Co2. Cacti are friends of Planet Earth!

For sustainable fashion

The material obtained by working with prickly pear leaves is therefore organic, biodegradable, breathable and resistant to abrasion and water. Very soft to the touch and washable with water and mild soap. What better?
